Re: Event Viewer error

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Garry,
Many thanks for your help, HDTune found nothing but chkdsk did find file
data errors, event viewer is now clear of errors.
Thanks again

I would try HD Tune (freeware).
Download and run it and see what it turns up.
http://www.hdtune.com/

Select the Info tabs and place the cursor on the drive under Drive
letter and then double click the two page icon ( copy to Clipboard )
and copy into a further message.

Select the Health tab and then double click the two page icon ( copy
to Clipboard ) and copy into a further message. Also do a full surface
scan with HD Tune.

Hope this helps.

For a little while now I have had 2 errors showing a bad block each time
I start the computer for that day.
I ran chkdsk /f a week ago and it found an error and fixed it, I have
since run it and it finds no errors.
On the 30th June I looked at tne Event Viewer and found 346 consecutive
errors all with the same problem "Bad block on Harddisk 0"
Is this likely to be a true error?
I have not shut down since then as I fear the computer may not restart.
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance
Teriel9
