Secondary log off service was disabled/stopped on my PC - so I'm beginning
to suspect the user switching or log off hangs, because this service wasn't
enabled and/or started.
I'm going to set it in services as Manual, and Start the service - Reboot.
and reconfigure my accounts to use fast user switching, and see if there are
any more problems with either function.
I will repost - if there are no changes.

Hi Kelly,
I've been checking Event Viewer after this happens to see if something
lists. I found my problem at Microsoft lastnight - theres appears to
be a hotfix for the issue discussed in KB328934. I'd have to phone
Microsoft to obtain it. However, the drivers offered in that fix - have
a file creation date - 7 mos older than files I currently have installed
on my system (the Joy I had - on that discovery.)
I did manage to find some messages in System log related to the operation
of my onboard Intel Pro/Ve 100 Lan adapter. These three events seem to
coincide with my last hang from a log off lastnight.

Considering the age of the Motherboard in this pc (6-7 years) I'm
probably about due for a hardware upgrade again.

Hi,
What does it read under Start/Run: eventvwr.msc

This is kind of annoying, but sometimes when logging off my user
accounts to log in as an administrator, (sometimes in reverse,) or when
I'm using Switch user mode Windows goes through the motions of
Switching / Logging me off the account, but hangs (Fast User switching
-) or freezes at saving my settings (- Log off.)
I usually end up having to hard reboot to clear this mess up.
I tried SFC /scannow from built in Administrator, but the problem
persists.
If possible I want to avoid doing a repair install.
Thanks much.
