Computer won't hibernate

When my hard drive failed, the boot partition was not recoverable. So I created a new one on the new drive. However, this partition is unable to hibernate. Just as the progress meter on the Hibernation shutdown screen reachs 100%, I get a BSOD.
Any suggestions?
