Re: No Option To Activate XP....

Please follow this simple troubleshooting procedure, courtesy of MS MVP Carey Frisch:

1. Download and install the WGA Diagnostic Tool
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=56062

2. After running the WGA Diagnostic Tool, click on the "Windows" tab and then click on "Copy to Clipboard".

3. Next, visit the following website and create a post in the "WGA Validation Problems" forum and paste the results of the WGA Diagnostic Data in a detailed post: http://forums.microsoft.com/Genuine/default.aspx?SiteID=25

4. A WGA troubleshooting specialist will analyze the data and recommend an appropriate solution.

I tried this also. It went through the first part of the "update" process

forget the exact wording).

I just recently had to reinstall Windows XP Pro. I have done this approx 9
or
10 times since 2002 - 2003 and have never had a problem when it came time
to
activate my copy, which BTW is a "legal" copy. There is no question about
that.

The problem I am now having, I have never had before or seen before, so
needless to say, I find this very strange.

After XP is installed, I am nolonger given any options to activate
Windows.

The little keys that always show up in the system tray... they are not
there, simply put there is nothing anywhere that will let me connect
throught
the internet to activate and there is no way to activate it over the
phone.

There is nothing, and I mean nothing anywhere that will allow me to
activate
XP in anyway.

Does anyone have any idea what can be done about this?

As I said I have never had or seen this problem before. I have always used
this copy of XP Pro, and have always been able to activate it, but now I
can't and am left with a copy of XP that I cannot activate, update and
will
probably have to re-install every 30 days.
