Check your event viewer or the NT Authority message to see what service
is being shut down and triggering the shutdown.
Also, it may not simply be a virus, it could be spyware. And spyware
isn't normally scanned for by anti-virus programs. Try Windows Defender,
Spybot Search & Destroy, AdAware, or CounterSpy in any combination or all of
them.

went to install a new printer hp 5400 that had replaced the hp k550. When
I
plugged in the 5400 I got an popbox that said that windows was shutting
down
dur to
windows\system32\services.exe with status code 1073741819. When I searched
the web I found that this meant a virus,so I scan the comp with three
differant programs including the windows live . The drive is clean. I took
the printer to another comp and it immediatly saw the printer and began to
install it,so I know its not the printer.
any ideas
thanks
oh yea after the comp reboots I get a box that says "services and
controller
