Delete the file, then create a folder of exactly the same name,
including the file extension. This will not only prevent the file
from being recreated but you might get an error message
that shows you what's causing your problem.

Thanks for the advice. This didn't work. As soon as I move the folder to
its
new location, it crops up again on the desktop. Thanks for your advice
though. Anyone else got an idea?
