It too late to cry over an unnecessary formatting I did. But thanks for the

My present size of the white canvas in the paint window is : Width: 5.07'
and Height: 4.72' in inches. Changing it to pixels or centimeters produce
the equivalent size in different numbers. It allows me to delete those
numbers but the writing space remain empty and will not accept input of
different numbers (sizes) be it in pixels or inches or centimeters.. This is
my real problem .

You mention the View\View bitmap. This does work and it fills the scree but
in the middle you get the same size canvas that is in the default one. Also
it is the same stuck size, be it in the minimzed or the maximized
formats.The problem is the canvas size not the window.

You mention that you are on 98SE. I was on that OS until I moved to XP PRO
but I still have the original disc of 98SE. How about deleting the PAINT I
have now from XP and when I re-install it and the machine ask for a disk
I'll give it the 98SE disc instead of the XP one. You think it will be a
wise thing to do?

That was my point. Almost always, the junk *can* be deleted. It takes
some effort, but it's almost always less work than a reinstallation of
the operating system. Symantec, also, is arguably not the best antivirus
program you can run. There are alternatives, all free:

Currently I'm on my 98SE machine, but it also has Paint. From the Help
section, I found:

On mine, the default canvas size is 512 pixels by 384 pixels. What is
yours?

You say it doesn't "accept change of the size." What exactly do you
mean? If you change the default values to, say 1000 pixels by 600 pixels
and click on the OK button, what happens? What happens when you drag the
edges of the canvas?

And what happens when you click on the Maximize button? Is your problem
the canvas size or the window size?
