Try disconnecting all peripherals except keyboard, mouse and monitor and
then try
to boot? Does it? If it does then you can start to pin down the cause of
the problem
by reconnecting items one by one.
What type of system CD do you have?

Hope this helps.

Ok..I have an Emachine (don't laugh) 1.2 gig....256 ram....20 gig
harddrive. I tried to turn the computer on the other morning, and it
seems like Windows *tries* to load, I see the initial welcome screen,
but instead of loading all the way, it goes into a screen that gives
me the option of regular load....safe mode load...load last known good
configuration...and I think step by step confirmation. But no mater
which one I pick, it just brings me back to *that* screen. Any ideas?
I had no warnings that I can think of, the problem happened all of a
sudden. Thanks.
