windows\system32\c_1252.nls missing

Tech-Archive recommends: Speed Up your PC by fixing your registry

Hi All,

Windows XP professional is failing to boot and reports the error:
"\windows\system32\c_1252.nls is missing or corrupt"

Microsoft's KnowledgeBase Article 830088 prescribes a fix that
commences
with running "chkdsk /r" from the recovery console, which reports:
"The Volume appears to contain one or more unrecoverable problems"


From that point on I cannot perform any more corrective measures.
Any command I try within the Recovery Console responds with "There is
no CD
or Floppy Disk in the Drive"???
Of course there is a CD in the drive, I had to boot off the Windows XP
with Dell Recovery disk.
I even get the no CD or Floppy Disk with a DIR command

Please Help.
