Recover folders lost in Documents/Settings?

With my settings checked for "show hidden files" and unchecked for "Hide
protected operating system files", I have lost a lot of folders under my
Michael folder in "Documents and Settings" ... the most
noticeable one that is missing is "Application Data" ... but there are
several gone. There is information
in my Application data that I need to help solve a problem that I'm having
with Nero.

Does anyone know how I can get those folders to show again? I've tried
clicking "restore defaults", but that doesn't seem to help.
