Re: 0xc0000022 error

Hi Syed,
Glad to hear there is some progress!.
About NkbMonitor.exe : Is PictureProject Module and located in this path:
c:\windows\system32\NkbMonitor.exe
and also here:
C:\Program Files\Nikon\PictureProject\NkbMonitor.exe
On the Registry:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User
Shell Folders =NkbMonitor.exe
If you have this Digital Camera Software try to uninstall it and Reinstall
the latest Driver for this camera, the driver may be corrupted or damaged by
heavy usage of the operating system.

Thank you very much for your continued support. It is highly appreciated.

After sending my last post, I continued to try to use BUILTIN command as
instructed on the pages that you gave links to. When I tried multiple times,
I was successful at last. The only error that remains gives the same memory
address is occurring when WinXP tries to load NkbMonitor.exe. I guess it
controlled by some other dll file. So far I have repaired permission for
msvcp71.dll and msvcr71.dll. The later file took multiple attemptemts and
restarts to be successfully repaired.

Thank you again and please let me know if you have any information regarding
the error caused by NkbMonitor.exe.

And yes, this error (and all previously mentioned errors) only happen(s)
with Limited accounts only. Admin account works just fine. I have already
removed all kinds of anti-spyware including the suspected one.

Best regards,

Hello Everybody,
I have WinXP SP2. After running a new anti-spyware, all limited
accounts
are
giving errors on start-up, all of them refer to same memory address
i.e.
0xc0000022. The application which try to start and end up giving
aforementioned error are ccApp.exe, reader_sl.exe, osCheck.exe and
others
I
cannot remember. I have googled it extensively. I have found that it
is
because some "3rd party" software has changed the default permissions
but
there is no information available how to fix this problem. Any help in
this
regard will highly be appreciated.

Hi Syed,
I will check this carefully, as this can be an infection or the the
installation of the Anti-Spyware did got control on the system, like
Running
Spybot inn Tea Timer mode or Ad-Aware in Ad-watch mode it will change
the
Permissions and see those limited users as they shouldn't have access
or
be
blocked ( as it will look to them as a threat?). so try to configure
the
Anti-Spyware to be shared or given permissions to other users to have
access
to it, by either reinstall and configure it to be sued by all users on
this
machine or locate the path which usually:
C:\Program Files\Anti-Spyware\MSA.exe => Right click it and see the
security
and sharing option, also you can set it through the GPO if you have XP
Pro.

This due to that the Anti-Virus Program you installed, doesn't have
sufficient Permission to those users
, so try to uninstall then install when you install the application
(Anti-Spyware) will ask you do you want this Program to run
to all user or Just "Syed" for Example, select for all user on this
Computer.
Here an example.
http://www.microsoft.com/communities/newsgroups/en-us/default.aspx?dg=microsoft.public.windowsxp.accessibility&tid=56610ca9-31c6-45b3-b6c3-efc078b0c929&cat=en_US_c011a874-9749-42d3-aec4-e3f7cc602926&lang=en&cr=US&p=1
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000022). Click on OK

terminate the application

<MS::>
You may receive an error message when you try to run an application
under
a
user account that is not a member of the Administrators group or of the
Power
Users group after you install Visual Studio 6.0 Service Pack 6
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, grant the Read & Execute permission to the Users
group for each affected system file. To do this, follow these steps:
1. In Microsoft Windows Explorer, locate the affected system file.
2. Right-click the file, and then click Properties.
3. Click the Security tab, and then click the Users group under Group
or
user names.
4. Under Permissions for Users, click to select the Allow check box for
the
Read & Execute permission.
5. Click Apply, and then click OK.
</MS::>
Or users account may be damaged or corrupted (if one can access the
machine
without problem then the other user Profile is corrupted), so try to
create
another account and try that.
