With that explanation it is impossible to say what the problem is. However
since it was allright for a similar time I would be tending towards virus /
malaware problems, or plain old user imput
The winxp cd is bootable, though you may have to amend a bios setting to
enable boot from cd
If it is set to boot from cd and it doesnt, with no err msgs, or cd drive
activity/light then you may be looking at a hw problem

I have a friends computer that she paid someone else to build. About 6months
ago she said that when windows got to the black window screen it froze. Asa
temporary fix I told her to put in the XP cd when she boots but don't pushbooted
any buttons, thinking that some of the files were corrupted, windows
up fine with the CD. Once I actually got to sit down at the computer andsame
troubleshoot I figured the best way to fix this is to completely reinstall
windows. That was about 4 months ago and now the computer is doing the
thing again and booting to the cd doesn't work anymore.
Can anyone give me some suggestions?
I was thinking maybe the hard drive is corrupt?
Please help
Thanks
