Hello,

I installed XP pro onto a 6 Gb partition and the free space left on
it is 1 Gb !
Adding up the three folders created by the install comes to 1.7 Gb.
So where has the remaining disk space gone ?
Should I be worried about this. Also I did format the partition
before.

Thankyou so much for any informative replies.

The rest might be in the "System Volume Information" folder. Hard to find a utility that will let you in there. Amust Disk Cleaner v1.0 will though and it is free.

That "System Volume Information" is all or mostly "System Restore" backups. You can adjust this between 0% to 12% of the disk space I think.
