I have set .pps extensions to be opened with PowerPoint Viewer 2007 in
the
Folder Options but when I try to open a pps file that is an attachment
in
OutLook Express, it gives this error: 'This file does not have a program
association with it for performing this action. Create an association in
the
Folder Option Control Panel'. If I download the attachment to a folder
then
click on it, Powerpoint Viewer will open the slideshow with no problem.
I'm
running XP Pro, SP2; OE6.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Access the website at http://windowsxp.mvps.org/ppsopen.htm and download
the
PPSFIX.zip file; unzip the contents and execute the ppsfix.exe file that's
extracted.

We've encountered that same problem you've experienced about three times
during the past few months and each time we were able to resolve the
problem
with the registry fix contained in that ppsfix.exe file.
