Re: Joining Archive

Hello,

Probably WinZip was used, but many other zip utilities can be used
too.
To open the zip file, try opening FILE.ZIP or file.zip.001 in WinZip
(Not free) or your preferred zip utility.

That's a set of "spanned" files, meaning they were broken up to live on
multiple CDs or floppies, whatever. Only the .ZIP file can be opened
successfully. Have them all in the same folder when you run winzip.
If it asks for one of hte files, just point it back to the folder where
that folder is. I think the process is, zip, then gets 003 where the final
index is located, then back to zip, then 002, then 003, and finally
assembly.

BTW, Winzip IS STILL FREE as long as you don't mind the screen nags.

Not sure whether Windows Compressed Folders can handle it though, my
guess is no. If you can't find File.Zip, maybe you can try renaming
File.Zip.001 to File.Zip and see whether that Windows recognizes it
as a compressed folder.

It won't. The proper headers are missing.

Note that I have not tried this before, so if it fails, just rename
it back.

I downloaded one file, splitted to few files, with names
FILE.zip.001, FILE.zip.002, FILE.zip.003
They downloaded OK (I assume), but what's with the three-numbered
extensions after the .zip? Not clear, what program has been used to
split this files and how to join this archive?

Thanks.
