As mentioned previously, you will need to replace
the battery on the motherboard. This involves opening up the case and doing
some hardware work. Bring the PC to a qualified computer repair shop if you
are not confident of doing this.

Wow--I found it in the advanced tab under Onboard Devices Config and
disabled
it and now my Devise Manager no longer has that catagory of Other Devices

I am still, however, getting that superimposed screen on boot up of the
motherboard (where I hit delete to get into the bios). How do I get rid
of
that screen and go back to just the listing of what is booting up?

The time happened again--is it worth it to change the battery or

Today I booted up and the booting process usually shows a listing of

Today, The listing stopped and the words like CMOS date/time
wrong..press
F2
to restore defaults. No other key worked so I had to press F2. It

controllers-it searched and could not find. I did have a date and
time

of january 2001 so I corrected that and rebooted. After re-booting,

now
got a new screen that I think superimposes over that listing that
shows, I
think my motherboard. It says, PaP800 Motherboard ASUS and then
after
awhile
windows XP boots. I have sound, Media player 11 workd fine,
messenger
camera
ok too but in my device manager in hardware the horrible yellow
question
mark
is by this Multimedia Audi Controller AND when I boot up now I no
longer
see
the listing of found items (where that message was about CMOS) no
longer
shows. Other posting say I need to update my sound board but I am
unclear
on doing this. How do you find what type of sound board you have.
I
had
my
PC made for me a few years ago and of course the company is now out
of
business. In the messenger wizard the sound is listed as Creative
sound
blaster CPI-- . I do not know what to touch in CMOS to get that
listing
to
show again in case I get another message I will never see it with
this
new
screen showing the motherboard superimposed. Can anyone help me?
