I think that explorer.exe is corrupted. I have tried a system restore
with no luck.
How can I replace or repair just than one file. Ex. Search doesn't
find files like it used to, C and F drives are showing up in the same
place.
What are the specific symptoms with Search? What do you mean that the "C
and F drives are showing up in the same place"?
What do you mean you tried a system restore with no luck? Does that mean
System Restore didn't run, or it did but no changes? Did you try more than
one restore point?
What changed between the time things worked and now? What software and
hardware changes?

After doing a single file change out as Mr. McCarty suggested and
doing a SFC(slower than a 3 legged turtle :-) )
I found the problem, I had one of the columns set too narrow causing
the "blurry stuff". It's those simple things that oftentimes get us.
Learned a lot of new stuff though.
