I have instructions on how to make a backup copy of Windows Registry, but where will I find instructions on how to restore the registry with the backup files on the Desktop if anything goes wrong?
As others have asked, what instructions? Making a backup of the complete registry using regedit is useless. It cannot be restored properly.
To backup the registry use ERUNT. When setup properly a backup copy can be restored from the recovery console. ERUNT can be set up to run as a scheduled task to daily backup the registry.
