My agp card is Nvidia TNT2 64/pro and it works well with my non
descript CRT monitor.Last week while scanning a sec slave hdd, it
seems the driver for the card been changed automatically to just
Nvidia TNT2 64 and the colour intensity is very high or dark shade.
I try to re-install back the original driver which at the end it also
give me a message asking for my monitor driver "005LD 0300501
MicroScanE44" . (I dont have the monitor cd anymore). Since then the
monitor went blank or dark screen. Question is is my monitor dead
now?. (If I on the power for the monitor without any connection, it
gives a warning asking to check video cable). Thanks for the
knowledge.
If your monitor is indicating you should check the cable, that indicates
that the monitor passed its own internal self test. So the monitor
is -probably- OK.
Check the monitor cable at both ends: Unplug and replug it. See if helps.
If not, then get latest drivers from the actual video card manufacturer for
your sound card; go right to their site and download them, then install
them.
Do not use the MS Update stuff for monitor drivers. I say that because
last I was there I noticed an optional monitor driver available. MS isnt'
always up to date with those.
Still no help? Try a different monitor on the computer.
Still no help? Uninstall/reinstall your video card and its drivers.
Still no help? Proably a bad video card, but without being there it's
pretty hard to say.
Still no help? Time for shop-level help.
