Thanks for the quick response. I do have Simple File Sharing Off. I am
trying to add specific machine names and/or user logins to the permissions
but I cannot get it to accept anything I enter. For example, while om
machine "SYS1" I want to add permission for "SYS2" to access the C drive but
it will not accept "SYS2" as an entry when I try to add that to the
permissions?

Hi,
Turn off simple file sharing in Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View
(tab). (Uncheck the last item.)
Connecting to the root of the C drive is a bad thing as you can run stuff
in program files that will mess up the registry of the machine you are
connecting from. So take care there.
The PC you are connecting to will only trust Everyone it _knows_ about.
Not Everyone on this planet. So you need to connect with a set of
credentials that the sharing PC knows about. (User/password).
