OK, I finally worked out where I was going wrong. Although I had the latest
version of TweakUI installed all along, I was accessing TweakUI via the
Control Panel...and it turns out that the CP applet is version 1.3 only,
TweakUI XP being an .exe. Problem solved!

From rereading your first post, Repair hotkeys is an option with TweakUI
version 1.33.0.0. TweakUI version 1.33 is intended for Windows Me, Windows
2000, Windows 98, and Windows 95. It is not intended for Windows XP.

Did you use this command

attrib +S +H desktop.ini

for %userprofile%\My Documents to make sure that %userprofile%\My
Documents\desktop.ini file has the System and Hidden attributes?

%userprofile% is an environment variable that is the path to the logged on
user's home folder.

Typing or pasting %userprofile% into the Start | Run box opens to the
Documents and Settings folder on whatever drive it is located on for the
logged in user.

I.e. C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here

The My Documents folder does not have a Customize tab and is not supposed to
have one.

UPDATE: I tried the ShellIconFix utility and the suggested manual fix, but
the utility won't run under my user account - it requires admin
privileges - and the desktop.ini in My Documents is exactly as specified
in the instructions (modulo the user name). The Keith Miller fix doesn't
work either. Finally, the Customize tab is missing from My Documents
Properties, probably because of restrictions on the user account.

Rebuilds all Explorer icons and removes unused Explorer icons from
memory. Rebuild icons when you find that Explorer is displaying the

I can no longer find the "Repair My Documents Icon" (or "Repair My
Videos Icon" and the like) feature under the Repair tab in TweakUI XP,
even when I run TweakUI in an admin account. The only visible options

I am running Windows XP MCE Professional SP2, and I have disabled the
built-in Administrator account (in line with Best Practice) and setup a
separate admin account for use when necessary. I have tried
reinstalling TweakUI, to no avail.

Any advice would be much appreciated.
