HI all,
Upgraded to Skype 3.1.0.152 (latest version on their web site), which
stuffed up the restart and shutdown process on three XPSP2 Pro machines.
Sorted by System Restore, and I've posted to the Skype Support Forum. But
if anyone has installed this with no issue re. restart and shutdown I'd be
interested.

'this is a bug known to be caused by the extras manager. if you do not use
the extras then you can try reinstalling the latest version of skype, but
this time during installation go through the options and opt out of the
installation of the extras manager'.
The above does work.
