Re: "Uninstall"-files
Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

On my regular XP installation I have a windows-folder on 17 GB containing
30-40 folders called something like "$Uninstall" cosnuming a LOT of space.
I am now running out of diskspace, and want to delete some of these
folders, will that make any problems for me?
To add to the other posts, Doug Knox has a utility on his site to automate
the removal of those uninstall files and their respective entries in
add/remove programs.
Caution: Do not delete or remove the $hf_mig$ folder. It's needed for
future updates.

I doubt removing these uninstall files will save you GB's of space. You
need to look where the space is being used. My windows folder occupies
about 2.5GB so 17GB is a huge amount.
