Hi Guys,
i am facing a problem when trying to upgrade my os from xp media
center edition to Xp pro.
when I Insert the Xp disc and reboot....!
i am getting the following error:
Technical Information: Stop: 0*0000007E, pci.sys
check to be sure you have adequate disk space. if a dirver is
identified in the stop message, disable driver or check with
manufacture for driver update try changing video adapters.
so pls. provide me the solution how to format it and load Xp pro
edition.
Actually XP Pro is a *downgrade* from XP Media Center and downgrade
installs are never supported.
About the only functionality that is included with XP Pro that is not
found in Media Center is the ability to join a Windows Server Domain.
If you really must make the move to XP Pro then your only option is to
format the hard drive (after backing up your data files of course) and
then doing a clean install of XP Pro on the empty hard drive.
Good luck
