have 2 hard drives in my PC, but I made 3 partition of them C, F and G. I have Windows XP Pro with SP2 installed on C and G. Now the C part got virus and need to be re-installed, but my Windows XP Pro CD doesn't have SP2 in it, it only came with SP1, I downloaded the SP2 from Mcrosoft myself.
Formatting the hard drive to solve a virus or spyware problem is rather like using an axe to trim one's fingernails. Sure, it'll probably get the job done, but it's rather messy...., and almost always unnecessary.
However, if that's what you want to do:
Simply boot from the WinXP installation CD. You'll be offered the
opportunity to delete, create, and format partitions as part of the
installation process. (You may need to re-arrange the order of boot
devices in the PC's BIOS to boot from the CD.)

Everytime I try to re-install it, there was a pop up window coming out, told me that the installation can't be run because I have newer version, also whenever I restart my PC, the BIOS never came up. I also tried to the Windows safe mode but still it didn't work. I also try to uninstall 1 of the hard drives (F and G) but the problem still there, I still can't launch the Windows XP Pro's auto run. Can you let me know how to re-install it?
That's because you're trying to start the installation from within Windows. Why would you even consider such a thing, if your goal is to eliminate a virus? All you'd be doing this way is ensuring that the new installation is also infected.
