Thanks very much. I wasted much time on that with no result.
There is no autorun but the 2nd suggestion worked fine

I have 1 hard drive with 2 logical drives:
The icon for D: shows correctly the hard disk icon
C: has lost the icon and I cannot recover it.
How can I bring back the original icon to C: ?
Run this command from Command Prompt adn Reboot-
del /f /q /a c:\autorun.inf
if that doesn't work then run these two commands from command prompt-
set key=HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows
reg.exe delete "%key%\CurrentVersion\Explorer\DriveIcons\C\DefaultIcon" /f
Good Luck, Ayush.
