I am OLD.

I was a big fan of The Beatles in junior high and high school, I
still am for that matter. I read all kinds of books, magazine
articles, etc. a lot of them from the school libraries. I
graduated high school in 1973 so I was around listening to them
before they broke up.

I first really started listening to radio when I built a crystal
set in Cub Scouts that would pick up our local AM station,
listening with an earphone held up to one ear. I still have that
puppy some where in a box in a closet. LOL I started listening
to rock 'n roll in 1966 when my Dad gave me a radio that could
pick up more than one station. I did a lot of DXing on that old
RCA tube radio, it was old when Dad gave it to me. I think that
my folks got it shortly after my Dad got back from Korea in 1953
or 54. It even had a record player that could be plugged into
the radio amp that would only play 45s. It had the great big
spindle.

I remember that in high school our local Gambles store (hardware,
appliances, furniture, whatever) had a rack with all of The
Beatles albums to date on it for sale for like $2.99 each. I
bought one every other week when I could afford it. $2.99 was a
lot of money when you were a kid in the late 60s early 70s. :-)
