This sounds like a browser question.
Adobe Reader has an add-on to open pdf files in the browser window.
WordPerfect must doing the same thing for doc files.
Internet Explorer, Tools, Internet Options, Programs, Manage Add-Ons.

:I am having a problem opening Word documents online. My computer for some
: reason identifies the .doc file as a WordPerfect 12 document and converts
the
: Word document into WordPerfect before it will open it. However, if I
"save"
: rather than "open" the document, and then open the document off line, the
: computer will properly identify it as a Word document and open it with
Word.
: Any clues how to change this? I have already told the computer through
the
: Windows Explorer to open all .doc files with Word, to no avail.
