You DO NOT want to upgrade that Win98 machine to Vista. Some of the
hardware and most of the software in Win98 is considered obsolete in
Vista and would make much more sense to upgrade it to WinXP. Just
make sure to backup every file you deem necessary first before
performing the upgrade...

I just bought a new home computer. My old one had Win98 and of course lots
of programs and stuff that I want to keep.

the new one has XP and I can get the free upgrade to Vista.

Question: Do I want to go from using WIN98 to XP and then wait on Vista
or do I want to go straight from win98 to using vista?
