New install on a WD250gb sata hd. it was a pain but I got windows to install on the drive but I can only boot the system if the win xp disc is in the cd. After booting from the cd I can take the cd out and go on with no problems but the system wont boot from the C: drive because it (what is it) does not see the drive. I have installed all drivers and verified while in windows that they are installed and working. Now the motherboard is without sata support so I used a sata raid 2 port pci host card. It came with drivers which are installed ( about ten times) and again everything funtions great once I am in windows so the card seems to be working. I am kind of miffed. Oh ya, one more clue. I tried to install a second O.S. and received a message that there was no drive there as well.
Try booting into Recovery Console and restore MBR
