I've connected my laptop (XP Home) to my PC (XP Pro) via ethernet cable.
My
PC is connected to my DSL modem via USB. Today I could not access the
Shared
Documents folder, where it had been working before. Simple file sharing is
on. The Shared Documents folder comes up as read-only each time w/ no
permissions to set. I get an error messages which reads: "\\OptiplexGX240
is
not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network
resource.
Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access
permissions. Logon Failure: the user has not been granted the requested
logon
type at this computer."
The user names and passwords for each machine is identical. I'm stuck and
at
a loss. Please help. You may also respond to hmtktdh@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Thanx.

One of your policy settings may be incorrect, e.g. "Access
this computer from the network". You can check/modify
these settings here:
Start / Run / gpedit.msc / Local Computer Policy /
Computer Configuration / Windows Settings /
Security Settings / Local Policy / User Rights

.
