What account does it say it is logging into?

I assume it's my main user account. Just in case it isn't, I password
protected the turned off guest account and the aspnet account as
well. The main user/administrator privileges account is the one where
all of my documents write to, etc., correct? That's what I believe is
logging in.

Additionally - how do I find the general administrator account to
assign it a password (in the event I can ever use it!).

Malke gave you the info on how to set up the login to require a password. For the built in Administrator account, if you have XP Home then login to safe mode, it will appear on the Welcome Screen. You should assign a strong password to it and set it aside, to use if something corrupts the normal account that has admin privileges.

To boot into safe mode restart the computer, as the BIOS splash screen disappears, repeatedly tap the F8 key until the Advance Options menu appears. Highlight Safe Mode and press enter.
