Took my computer in to get hard drive replaced. The guy (without asking)
uninstalled my Genuine Version of Windows XP Home and replaced it with the
"FAKE" XP PRO along with a couple of other things he replaced! Of course,
now, my problem being that Microsoft continues to tell me I need to
purchase
an authentic version on Windows etc etc etc.l..

How do remove XP PRO and put my version back on?? Step by Step Please.

Tried to reinstall mine and I get this message:

-- Setup cannot continue because the version of Windows on your computer
is
newer than the version on the CD.
Warning: If you decide to delete the newer version of Windows that is
currently installed on your computer, the files and settings cannot be
recovered.

Need someone to point me in the right direction so I can keep.......

Looking Ahead

Why not go back to 'the guy' and tell him to sort it out? If he broke it,
he should fix it.
