Make sure that you have "Full Control" on the %systemroot%\system32\spool and its subbfolders. If need be take ownership of the folders in question. Right click on the printer in question and verify your security privileges on the printer. You need " Manage Printers" permission to delete printers. If more than one set of permissions is listed in the Printer Security tab the least permission (most restrictive) will apply, remove the lesser permisssions. If you have Administrative privileges try deleting the printer with the printui.dll function:
rundll32 printui.dll PrintUIEntry /dn /n\\machine\printer
To get a list of printui.dll options:
rundll32 printui.dll PrintUIEntry /?

I have a network printer that is no longer connected to my network. If I try to delete it, it continues to appear with "deleting" on the right hand side in the Control Panel->Printers & Faxes window, or I get a "permission denied" message. It stays there even after I reboot my computer..
How can I get rid of this?
