when I try to run a disk error check on files etc through the
disk, properties, tools, error check and then restart the computer, I get a
message "cannot get direct volume access" and therefore does not go through
with the error file check/fix process. What is the problem here.
From a Google group search here is one recent thread on the issue:http://groups.google.com/group/microsoft.public.windowsxp.general/browse_thread/thread/d175badfacf0994b/d15a4132940e04c2?lnk=st&q=chkdsk+cannot+get+direct+volume+access&rnum=1&hl=en#d15a4132940e04c2
Here are the links to the web and group searches. If the above doesn't help do some reading in these.
