It happens in all programs. It is not a laptop and I have no accessibility features on.

Why does the search companion pop up every time I press the space bar, and more importantly, how do I stop this happening? I am using XP Media Centre edition with Service pack 2. I have tried system restore, and anti spyware software but nothing has fixed the problem. It's probably something simple, but I would be grateful for any help.
A few more ideas:
- What a/v software are you running? I doubt seriously any standard software would cause this, and wonder if you have a virus. If you can with your a/v software, schedule a boot scan.
- Open Control Panel, Regional and Language Options, Languages tab, Advanced tab, Details button, check "Turn off advanced text services".
- Open Device Manager, locate the keyboard and remove it. Restart the computer so the keyboard will be seen and reinstalled.
