If you persist in using pirated software, certainly. There is no legitimate source for downloading Microsoft operating systems, unless you have a very expensive MDSN subscription, and download directly from Microsoft.
Actually Bruce, anyone can purchase and download Vista without an MSDN Subscription, links to purchase and download Vista are on Microsoft's site.
Ah! That's something new, then; but it wouldn't apply in the OP's case, as a different web site was specified.
But I hasten to add that those who choose to purchase and download should be EXTREMELY careful as to where they buy and download! There are sure to be abuses and scam artists who will try to pass themselves as legitimate sources and I am sure that we will see many posts to these groups from people who have been scammed and ripped off!
How very, very true!
I also think that buying the download only and not spending a few extra dollars for the real DVD is a bad idea.
Agreed. How many people will download, *NOT* burn the files to a disk, and then lose everything when a hard drive fails? And then blame Microsoft for their own lack of foresight?
However, as you said, I don't think that Windows versions prior to Vista can be purchased and downloaded over the internet and I would caution buyers to not consider buying Windows XP by download.
