Irrespective of whether the video card is the culprit or the monitor,
is there any way by which I can make culprit support 1024X768 (of
course, other than buying a new video card or a new monitor)?
You do not state if it had been previously set at the higher resolution
No, AJR, I have never ever set the resolution to 1024X768.
Thanks to both of you for your responses.
Since the adapter had that resolution as an option on its slider, I suspect the adapter can handle the resolution. You might try changing the screen refresh rate under the Monitor tab, and see if the new settings will be accepted.
