Help !!!!
I have recently helped a neighbour recover his pc after the
original
xp installation was corrupted (we think by a maliscious
website), I
have fixed the installation, however, previously, there were
4 user
accounts (2 limited users, 1 power user and 1 with admin
privileges -
'hidden' admin account was disabled).
For some reason now, even with 'welcome screen' selected as
the
default user scheme, xp boots into desktop using the
administrator
account. I know it is possible to set up the original
configuration,
I just cannot remember how !!!!
Any comments / suggestions are welcome

If your goal is to disable autologon and have the Welcome
Screen displayed at startup, do the following.
Go to Start -> Run and enter control userpasswords2 in the Open
box.
Click OK.
Put a check mark in the box next to "Users must enter a user
name and password to use this computer.
Click OK.
Restart the computer and see if you get the desired results.
Hopefully, all the accounts that existed before you did your
repair work will be displayed on the Welcome Screen.
Also, disabling the built-in Administrator account is not a
good idea. Should the other administrator account become
corrupted your neighbor will have a major problem. Leave the
Administrator account enabled but assign a strong password to
the account. Make sure it's not one that's easily guessed but
your neighbor will remember.
Good luck
