Needs to be formatted and have a letter assigned to be "seen"
Run Disk Management (Open Run and plug in "diskmgmt.msc") and format it.

Re: hardrive works as external not when installed internally ... Even in the BIOS it shows up as the slave on the primary IDE... Obviously I don't want to format it, ...connector is a good one. ... (microsoft.public.windowsxp.help_and_support)

Re: USB Disk Drive problem ... I tried the suggestions in your other post and the drive didn't show up, so I then set it up in my computer as a slave and formatted it and that solved the problem. ...
