I will check this site out http://www.usbman.com/WinME%20USB%20Guide.htm as
the other sites deal with usb Drive issues. My problem isn't a drive (my
drives work certain peripherals/accessories dont" issue its more of a device
driver issue.

After recently installing Two new LiteOn IDE drives (1 DVDrom & 1 20x DVDrw
+/-) usb/plug play has been quirky to say the least. My external Burner gets
recognized when I power it on. One of my digital cameras is recognized as
well as a usb flash drive. However, my cyberhome remote control is not
recognized, one of my other digi cam's. When I plug them in I'm asked to allow
Windows to search on the internet for the drivers. Previously before
installing the drives all of they above devices worked without having to
manually load drivers.
I have gone into device manager and uninstalled and reinstalled all the usb
ports to no avail. Device managers recognizes all of them (6 in the rear + 2
in the front). I also deleted the infcache file in the inf folder and that
didn't change anything either.
The devices that still work I tried them on all of the ports and they
function appropriately. Some of the devices don't even come with drivers (ie
the cyberhome universal remote). Any suggestions? Is there any way to
completly reinstall/re-extract the files in the inf folder? If so will it
help? Could I have damaged something when installing the drives? If so what
should I look for?
Maybe one of these sites will help.
