Hi, Joe. A/V means what? - sorry. There is no mention of system 32.exe in
the various registries but a request to load the CD containing system32.exe
is made when loading Windows XP.
Cheers.

Thank you. I must admit that I am not very computer literate and do not havePress Ctrl/Alt-Delete, locate System32.exe (or) Setup32.exe and click
the courage nor ability to undertake what has been prescibed in the two
articles I have read.
I have ascertained that System32.exe is an unwanted worm/virus, and as such
I thought it would be easy to remove. In the circumstances, it looks as if I
shall have to live with it.
Thanks again for all your help.
Cheers.

Thanks for this as well. This is the answer I obtained whenYes, sorry seems that link is no longer any good. Try running

to

Unfortunately, I am not so computer literate as many, and I am at a
complete
loss how to proceed.

Does it happen if you boot into safe mode? If not do some clean

feeling is it has to be something you can see from one of those. I don't
know what you are doing that you can't find it. I'm out of ideas other than
to try a repair install, and if that doesn't work, a clean install.

Then you _might_ be able to delete it.
Those are the filenames you mentioned in your posts.. Did your a/v
offer to delete them when it mentioned them? Run the a/v and set it to
do a boot scan.
