RE: Keeps automatically switching to Windows Classic

Hi everyone.

I recently bought a sony vaio, running windows xp. I've been running it with
the appearance as Energy Blue, which is just a slightly fancier version of
the xp appearance. However, for the last couple of days, soon after i log on,
it is automatically switching to the windows classic appearance. Its not that
i mind it, but i'm concerned that its happening without my say so. I've run a
virus scan, and everything is fine.

Any ideas as to what's going on?

Thanks!

Richie

When your computer boots, does it go to a welcome screen or straight to your
desktop? I'm assuming it's the Welcome Screen that is reverting to the
standard XP Welcome Screen.

I'm not sure if these will help, but here are a couple of suggestions:

First, make sure you are signed on as Administrator & that you've set the
Welcome Screen you prefer as the DEFAULT Welcome Screen.

Second, make sure that your user profile (administrator) is the profile the
computer loads automatically.

To do this:
Right-click 'My Computer' and click 'Properties'.
Click the 'Advanced' tab.
Locate 'User Profiles' in the center of the window & click 'Settings'.
If there is more than one 'User Profile', make sure the one that says
'Administrator' (usually the first one) is highlighted.
Click 'Okay', then 'Okay' again.
Restart your computer.

If these things don't work, I would suggest deleting, then reloading, Energy
Blue, just to make sure there isn't something corrupted in the program.

Hope this helps. Good luck. :)
