Re: Windows will not use the unstalled sound card

Did that, the thing is that it shows up as working properly in Device

matter if it is the onboard that I set active and remove the

Soundblaster. I have seen hundreds of computers and this is the first
time I have hit anything like this. I'm sure there is someone out there
who has seen it hundreds of times. At least this is not a client's
system, though I'd be quicker to wipe it out and start form scrtach
then since I'd get paid for it.

BTW, I'm not too worried about the spam. I get a ton already and I'm
getting ready to move to my own server and domain in a couple of
months. The Barracuda gets most of it without me ever having to see it
anyway.

Maybe a dumb question, but when you install the SB card, and disable
on-board sound, you do plug the speakers into the correct jack on the
SB card?
I've done that myself, and spent hours looking for no sound. The
speakers plugged into on-board, but the SB card being the active one.

Good luck.
