Re: Windows start up error message re Setup32.exe

Thanks. I have deleted what I could from the system, but some items cannot be
deleted. Unfortunately, this has made no difference. I have ascertained that
System32.exe is an unwanted worm/virus, and as such I thought it would be
easy to remove. In the circumstances, it looks as if I shall have to live
with it.

Does it happen if you boot into safe mode? If not do some clean boot
troubleshooting to see what is loading at startup that's invoking this
message.

Yes, sorry seems that link is no longer any good. Try running Autoruns from
here. Maybe it can give you an idea what's triggering this to run.

Run regedit, press Home key to get to the start, press F3 and do a Find
for runonce. See if there are any programs in any Runonce folder. If
so, delete the entry and see if that helps. Press F3 to continue the
search.

It's a key in the registry; it looks like a folder. Do a search for
runonce, not run once. Look at the paragraph above again for complete
instructions.
