When you initially start the Component Checker, there is a selectable
option, which allows the checker to determine the version of MDAC installed,
once selected and run this shows your current version.
You then can run the checker against the selected version you determined in
the first process.
Then you will see any missmatched (Versions) files.
odbc32 v3.510.4202.0 is I believe from MDAC 2.1 sp2
That being the case you need to update MDAC and possibly JET
Have you run MS Update, custom mode, and checked for ignored updates?
MDAC 2.8 is the latest for Winxp
MDAC2.8sp1 contains components installed with winxp sp2 update

What I had to do was internet explorer instead of firefox to download thesee if
component checker and I managed to run it no problems.
Not sure where I am looking now, but in the results there were odbc 32 dll
and others - run version 3.510.4202.0, not sure where to locate the mdac
version.
Now where do I look.

I can create a new catalogue but can't open it under Photoshop
Ms update, custom does not give MDAC updates and all priority

I went into Microsoft download centre and had a look at driver
can I download the MDAC 2.8 for my computer, I am running XP
updates?SP2,

there another one more suitable.
