I'm trying to save website pages as html files ("Save As") but I'm unable to
do so properly, possibly because of security setting change(s). It will
either: (1) Start saving but terminate (at 89%, in the case of eBay auction
pages, or (2) Save a blank page (in a bank website when trying to save the
image of a processed check).
In the latter case, the Security Bar will come on and state "IE restricted
file from showing active content that could access your computer..."
Following the instructions for modifying the Security Bar settings, in Tools/
Internet Options/ Security/ Custom settings: Under both ActiveX controls and
plug-ins and Downloads I enabled automatic prompting (both were previously
disabled). I rebooted, yet this did not make a difference.
I used to be able to save pages from both websites on this PC only a few
weeks ago.
I suggest posting to the internet explorer newsgroup and specify what version of IE.
