When you "overinstalled it" did you "remove/install"? If not, try that, and delete any leftover folders prior to the reinstall.

Desktop PC / Windows XP SP2 - all up to date.
psshell Run-Time error '91'
Object variable or With block variable not set.
I've just spent an hour getting nowhere on a machine with this error. Any clues appreciated.
The application the person is using, (and has been relatively unproblematic), for several months sold by "Megger" and it's main function is to interface with electrical / electronic test equipment also maunfactured by Megger. But that feature is not being used, he's also using PDA's and Megger PDA software for his workmen to fill in simple forms, which are then transferred into the PC, for storage and printing etc.
Also relevant, perhaps, is that, (after interrogation!), I don't think that he's installed or uninstalled, or changed his system in a way that would have produced this software fault. ...though I'm begnning to wonder about that.
Things I've tried meddled with !
Googled and found references to "spyware" with the same executable filename as the one that's causing problems loading on this machine but, am pretty sure the fault's not in that area,
e.g. security layers / false positives aren't interfering with this porgram launching.
Wondering if a damaged file was the cause, I over-installed the program - that didn't fix it. I did notice that the application is using MDAC but, again, I don't think anything has changed.
.. now that I'm no longer in front of that machine ...I wonder if he's installed something that put in an older copy of Visual Basic
...wandering around in the dark !
regards, Richard
