Yes, you can Run it as a batch file (.bat), to do that open a Notepad and
Copy those command and save as reg.bat on a floppy or CD which option is
installed on your friends machine?.
But remember to type them correct or otherwise you will get error and you
don't know the exact problem, meaning the space between the
regsvr32_urlmon.dll for example, so be careful to check all correct
before
saving.
Try this first, then if still no joy yes try the CD SP2 you have, it
should
work and upgrade the system to better protection files than the SP1 which
on
now.
HTH.

Hi nass
I went and checked out my friend's machine today , it does have the SP2
installed , so what I did was :
a) checked and fixed the IE settings of :
[&] Browsing
[ ] Enable Third- Party browser extensions (Req Rest) uncheck this box.
Under :
[&] Security
[ ] Use SSL 2.0 Check this box
[ ] Use SSL 3.0 Check this box
[ ] Use TLS 1.0 Check this Box
b) Checked \windows\system32\driver\etc\host file
There was no entry for the particular web site that is causing the
problem
c) Flushed the resolver dns
Using ipconfig /flushdns
The problem of IE locking up / not working when in the user account is still
there , but IE seems to work a bit better.
What is happening now is that IE is working fine in the user account , but
if you leave the user account idle for more than a few minutes , it tends to
become unworkable and unable to use either the back/forward button or be
able to click on any of the links as if it is unable to resolve any IP
addresses ... etc
The only way to fix the problem is to shut down IE and then open it up
again.
I haven't run the regsvr32 commands that you mentioned , I though I would
ask you if would know of what is happening to the user account and IE before
I implement the commands.
Have you got any idea what is happening ?
Thanks.
