Hi,
I am going to have my hard drive replaced because of read/write errors in
the MFT bitmap
and because I can't run Chkdsk /F.
I have Norton Ghost 10. and made an image of my configuration.
After they put in the new HD in is it safe to re image it with my present
configuration of Windows or do I have to start
all over again?

I have a big problem with the HP Recovery disks and (I think) they are nor
being read correctly.
Every time I used them there are always three or four thing wrong with the
installation.

Have a good day,
RScotti

There's an old saying that goes something like this...
If you clone garbage, garbage is what you'll get.

If you're having problems with your present HDD "because of read/write
errors in the MFT bitmap
and because I can't run Chkdsk /F" thus indicating that the drive is
obviously dysfunctional, it's hard to imagine that a disk clone of such will
magically remedy those problems. Seems to me you have one of two options...
1. Correct the problem on your present HDD so that it is bootable and
functions without any problems, or,
2. Do a fresh install of the XP OS on your new HDD.
